Laptop docks, chargers and privacy filters

CCS Tech & Home buying advice

Use your exact laptop and screen specifications to choose accessories that fit and support the functions you need.

Docks and external displays

List the number of screens, their resolution and refresh rate, plus USB devices and networking needs. Check the laptop port's capabilities and the dock's operating-system compatibility. Some docks need additional software; some laptop and dock combinations limit the number of independent displays.

Charging through a dock

Check whether the dock supplies power to the laptop, how much it supplies and whether its power adapter is included. The dock's laptop charging output can differ from the rating printed on its power supply.

Replacement chargers

Match the manufacturer's required voltage, connector or supported USB charging profile, and adequate power output. A physically matching plug is not proof of compatibility. For travel, also check the mains plug and supported input supply.

Privacy filters

Match the display's visible width, height and aspect ratio, not just its advertised diagonal size. Check the attachment method, touch-screen support and whether the filter fits a recessed or edge-to-edge screen.

Send us these details

Provide the laptop model, operating system, port photos, monitor models and intended accessory. For a privacy filter, add the visible screen dimensions.

Ask CCS about compatibility — send model numbers and a description of what you want to achieve. Product availability will be confirmed separately.
